    A Lift Operator serves our guests by correctly picking and moving the retail merchandise throughout the Distribution Center for shipment to our Cracker Barrel retail stores. The Lift Operator uses safe and efficient driving skills to transfer materials from Receiving, to storage racks to picking locations and cross docking to Shipping operating a variety of machines to include: sitdowns/standups/cherry pickers/turrets/pallet jacks and double jacks.

    Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Operates material handling equipment as required in order to move merchandise from inbound areas through processing and on into outbound areas
    • Determines items that need to be moved using reports or RF guns
    • Runs merchandise from inbound trucks to storage areas
    • Replenishes picking areas with correct merchandise into correct picking slots
    • Assists with inventory control of merchandise throughout building to ensure proper locations of merchandise
    • Follows distribution center operational policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure the safety of all associates and visitors throughout the day
    • Maintains the “Pleasing People” mission by following Cracker Barrel Rules of Conduct
    • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance


    • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings and Saturdays
    • Meet DC operating policies of safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Available to perform various different tasks within the DC during each shift


    • Be able to complete Lift Certification Program
    • Be able to communicate with coworkers and managers effectively
    • Stand and walk for long periods of time
    • Lift up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics
    • Work at a pace consistent with changing business volume and demands
    • Ability to learn quickly
    • Ability to match numbers on labels, invoices, merchandise boxes, bill of lading, etc. for inventory accuracy
    • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
    • Ability to work as part of a team
