Overview

The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.  They will repair & maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.  To include, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems of Fork Lifts, Building and Grounds, Conveyor, Sortation & Order Selection equipment at the Distribution Center.

Responsibility

25%  Provide maintenance & repair service for safe operation of the fork lift fleet and other personal industrial vehicles, including mechanical and electric repairs, preventative maintenance, cleaning and inspection.  Locating causes of trouble, and repairing and replacing worn parts to ensure machines are safe for use.  To include proper maintenance & rotation and changing of lift batteries.

 

25%   Provide maintenance & repair service for the building and grounds systems by monitoring and inspecting all aspects of the facility, to include: lighting, plumbing, doors, dock equipment, landscaping, fire suppression and alarm system.

 

25%  Provide maintenance & repair service for safe operation of the conveyor and sortation system by proactively adjusting and tracking chains, belts, rollers and drive systems.  Repairing and replacing worn parts, along with inspecting and lubricating all conveyor and associated equipment.  To include electrical control panels and operating systems.

 

25%  Other duties as directed, to include assisting the Housekeeping staff and completing special projects and other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

 

Standing/Walking           85%

Number of Pounds     80lbs.

 

 

Requirements:

 

2 years of machinery maintenance experience or equivalent.  High School diploma or equivalent.  Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.

 

Preferred Special skills or knowledge:

 

Effective communicator.

Basic reading skills.

Basic math skills.

Computer literacy in: MS Office & Email programs.

Must be able to read diagrams.

General knowledge of electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

Technical zeal.

Knowledge of workplace safety practices to include Lock-Out Tag-Out.

Ability to lift 80 pounds and knowledge of proper body mechanics.

Prefer knowledge of welding, electric forklift repair, hydraulics, and AC and DC electricity.
